Adrian Biddle is the Cinematographer for The Princesses Bride. A talented swimmer during when he was younger, Biddle's ability opened the door to the film industry. In 1969, Egil Woxholt, an underwater photographer, hired Biddle as an apprentice. This allowed him to work on films such as the James Bond film, His Majesty's Service (1969) and Murphy's War (1971), although he was never credited for these. Later, Biddle worked at Ridley Scott's advertising company, R.S.A. There, he did a large number of advertisements, and when Scott decided to do films, Biddle joined him.
After doing various works in both The Duelists and Alien, Biddle went back to working as a cinematographer on advertisements. During this time, he developed new types of lighting techniques and worked on many famous campaigns; his most famous ad was Apple, directed by Ridley Scott.
Biddle's first true film cinematography was Aliens, directed by James Cameron. He would latter do 25 more feature films, including Thelma and Louise, Willow, Shanghai Knights, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, and V for Vendetta, which would be his last film before his death in 2005.
