Style of Critique and The 3 A's

In my critique on The Princess Bride, I will be using the "reviewer" style. I want to describe the contents in the simplest means possible, because that is how i have always understood cinema. Knowing the basics of a film allows one to really appreciate its content and story.

The 3 A's

  • The Art
Romance and adventure are set in this realistic Medieval style world. The lack of any real special effects or bright lighting doesn't seem to effect the movie at all, in fact it rather does the opposite.

  • The Artist
Rob Reiner does an excellent job in this film, combining the serious themes with the most witty commentary.

  • The Audience
There are two sides to this coin. The Romance and adventure is in a more fairy tail style, catering towards a younger crowd. While the humor strikes a cord with the adult audience, especially in the more lengthy speeches in the film.
